Overview

Participation rules

The course prepares participants for studies in English at Polish universities. Everyone can participate in the course, regardless of the age and the level of English.

Learning purpose and curriculum

The mail aim of the course is to prepare students to reach the B2/C1 level of proficiency, allowing them to undertake studies in English. The curriculum of the course is focused on the acquisition of general language skills, such as speaking, writing, grammatical accuracy, solving listening tests. The course also includes interesting lectures on Polish history and culture, as well as attractive trips around Warsaw and its surroundings.

Before the course

We carefully check the level of English of everyone who wants to participate in the courses before they start. The results of the tests allow us to divide the students into groups according to their actual level of language proficiency.

Course process

Classes are held from Monday to Thursday, 4-5 hours each day (750/900 teaching hours per year).
All participants of the preparatory course, in addition to classes with English teachers, they attend classes with a native speaker experienced in working with young people and who in a natural way passes on knowledge of correct pronunciation, enriching vocabulary not only with that used in classic literature, but also in informal speech.
For additional teaching effectiveness, each language group has classes with several teachers in one day. As practice shows, this technique is effective and has a positive effect on the motivation of students. The coordination of teachers of annual and semester English language courses is ensured by a methodologist. S/he monitors the quality of teaching and the implementation of the planned language programme.
Every month the course participants take a test to check their learning progress. Upon the completion of the course, all participants must pass an internal English test. Based on the results and attendance, each participant receives a certificate with the appropriate level of English.
